How to Prepare your Home for Fall!

Sorry I have been MIA! This post was supposed to go up on September 1st while I was away, but I forgot to schedule it. Anyways, fall is my FAVORITE time of the year..let me rephrase that early fall is my favorite time of the year. You know when it’s still in the 60’s , and the sun still sets later than 7 pm? Yeah, that kind of fall! I love preparing for fall early, and I usually start the 2nd week in August. Pictured are some of my flowers and pumpkins from last year. Please keep reading to see my best tips on how to prepare your home for fall

1. For me, the #1 way to prepare your home for fall is to have it smelling like fall! There’s nothing like walking into your home smelling like freshly picked apples or sweet cinnamon. I start to stock up on fall candles in August, so that when September rolls around, I have a selection of fragrances ready to go. These are some of my favorite candles:

Wood Crackling Candle in Cinnamon [I love Wood Wicks! When you burn them, they create a beautiful crackling noise that resembles firewood burning. It sets the mood]

Mrs. Meyers Apple Cider Candle [I love soy candles, and this one smells fantastic!]

Reed Diffuser Cinnamon Chai[This is also by the brand Wood Wick and I usually put two of these in my downstairs]

Cleaning

2. Fall scented cleaning products really get you into the fall mood! My favorite brand is Mrs. Meyers because they are natural and don’t contain any harsh toxic chemicals

Apple Cider Set [ This is my ideal cleaning kit because you get  hand soap, dish soap, and all-purpose cleaner that smell like apple cider]

Apple Cider Hand Soap [This is also from the Mrs.Meyers collection, and it smells heavenly]

Apple Cider Dish Soap [Be in the fall spirit even when you’re doing the dishes]

Multi-Purpose Cleaning Spray[ Pack of 3 multi-purpose cleaning sprays in apple cider scent. You usually can find these cheaper in the store, but they sell out VERY fast]

Decor

3. I take out my fall decor starting the first week in September (August is too early for me to be looking at pumpkins).

Wood Board[I use this wood board to display pumpkins and candles OR I use it as a charcuterie board]

Glass Pumpkin[Similar! This one is similar to the one pictured]

Bedding

                        4.  The next thing I take out all of my cozy throw blankets and bedding to prepare for the colder months ahead.

Barefoot Dreams Blanket [I’m sure you’ve seent his blanket a million times! But, I do love it and recommend it to anyone]

Cotton Blanket [I put this on our bed mid-September to add some extra warmth!]

Down Alternative Comforter [This is the comforter we use in the fall & winter. The size we use is King]
